Spring Wishlist 2016

Spring has finally sprung! I'm always hesitant to say this, as where I live it feels like one day I'll be out in shorts and a t-shirt and the next day it's snowing. However, I saw the very first daffodils in bloom last week, which means that spring is definitely on its way. So, in preparation I took a look ahead and gathered a list of all of the things I'm hoping to get for the new season.

1. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Istanbul - $6.99 -  I already have the SMLC in Amsterdam, and while I don't wear that color every day (it's a fire-engine red), I love it for special occasions. The formula is amazing, especially if you have drier lips but still want to wear a matte lip color. Istanbul is a gorgeous warm-toned soft pink, which I think would be a perfect everyday color for spring.

2. Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay - $10.45 - I found this product in a Byrdie article about the best-rated beauty products on Amazon. This has over 7,000 positive reviews on Amazon (crazy, right?). Once you mix the clay inside with apple cider vinegar or water, it forms a paste that you can apply to the face as a mask. It's supposed to be excellent for sensitive, acne-prone skin. As it becomes warmer and I'm outside more often, my skin tends to suffer and I see more of my hyper-pigmentation and rosacea. I'm willing to give this mask a try and see if it helps!

3. Anastasia Glow Kit in That Glow - $40.00 - Highlighters are all the rage right now and they doesn't seem to be going away. I saw this kit in my ULTA a few weeks ago and I'm still kicking myself for not picking it up, especially after so many bloggers have been raving about it. There are four very generously-sized pans of golden-toned highlighters inside. If you have cooler skin, there's also another glow kit with more pink-toned highlighters.

4. NYX Pro Foundation Mixer - $9.99 - My love for NYX products is well-documented. When I looked through their spring launches on ULTA's website, this product immediately stood out to me as it reminded me of my CoverFX Custom Cover Drops. While the NYX version doesn't have the same color selection, it is unique in that it allows you to change the tone or finish of your base product, while the CoverFX changes the coverage. I have several foundations that I love, but are just too dark for me (even in the lightest shade) when I don't have a tan. I'm hoping to try the white foundation mixer to see if that helps to lighten them up.

Gemstone Necklace // Jack Rogers Sandals // Southern Proper "Frat Hat" // Frye Melissa Button Riding Boots (also on sale here!)

1. Chrysoprase Gemstone Necklace - $42.00 - Delezhen is one of my favorite Etsy shops, and this necklace is just one of many gorgeous pieces they have. I love the color - it's not quite turquoise but not quite jade - and I think the gold compliments it beautifully. The size is perfect too; while you can order it in different lengths, I like the 16-18in option for layering or wearing alone.

2. Jack Roger Platinum Sandals - $118.00 - I've had my eye on these for years now! They're such a versatile and classic shoe, and I love that you can dress them up or down and still look put together. I think they'd look great both with a pair of chinos and a button down or Breton top, or with a sundress and bright lip color.

3. Southern Proper Frat Hat in Small Stripe Hydrangea Blue - $28.00 - I love wearing baseball hats on a day-to-day basis, especially when I'm having a bad hair day. They're so handy because they allow you to look cute but don't require a lot of effort. Southern Proper sells so many colors and designs, but I liked the tiny pinstripes and the pretty blue - perfect for keeping the sun off of my face.

4. Frye Melissa Button Riding Boots - $368.00 - These are definitely a splurge. That's probably why I've been eyeing them for years but have never taken the plunge. This spring, however, I'm determined to hunt them down on a sale and get my hands on a pair. They are such a gorgeous and versatile color, not to mention amazing quality. Even though the weather is warming up, I still think riding boots transition well from winter outfits to spring (i.e. a dress with boots or jeans and a light short-sleeved shirt).
