Happy for the Holidays

turtleneck: J.Crew // skirt: J.Crew Factory (old, similar, also love this one) // barette: J.Crew (old, current season here) // watch: Fossil // bracelet: Kiel James Patrick (old, similar) // earrings: vintage (similar) // socks: L.L.Bean // boots: Tory Burch (old, similar here, budget option here)

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

As I'm writing this post, my return train home is three days away, and Christmas is just over a week away. I'm so excited to be back home for the holidays and get some much-needed downtime. I've been so exhausted lately (I can't seem to get enough sleep), but I still have two finals left on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week (the day you'll be reading this!), so there's still some powering-through left to do. My first finals season has definitely been a learning experience, but I'm glad that I'm almost through to the end. It's crazy to me that I've almost finished my first semester of college! I can't wait for Christmas and seeing friends and family at home. My roommate and I decorated our room with Christmas lights and a mini tree (to which we added little candy canes to make it extra-festive), and we have the Spotify Christmas Classics, Christmas Pop, and Christmas Piano playlists on repeat. We even throw in a little Christmas Trap remixes when we study. Something about the fast-paced beat is just really motivating, even though the premise of the songs is kind of hilarious.

Lately, my outfits have been about being comfortable, festive, and put-together. Finals season means that I'm busy and often just spending the entire day studying, but I still want to look somewhat stylish just for my personal sanity. As comfortable as they may be, if I wear leggings and a sweatshirt for too many days in a row I don't feel my best. Not that there's anything wrong with being casual, but putting in a bit more effort to my outfit is one way I give myself a little boost during a stressful day. Two go-to combos? A skirt + turtleneck + boots/warm socks (like my outfit above), or a sweater + jeans + flats topped with a scarf and warm coat. My favorite sweaters ever are the supersoft turtlenecks with the side slits from J.Crew. I would highly recommend checking them out if you're in the market for a non-itchy, warm, flattering and ultra comfortable sweater option.

Time to go back to studying, but hope you all are having a lovely holiday season thus far!
