Take a Bow

09 January 2019

top: Anthropologie (on sale!) // jeans: J.Crew (also on sale!) // shoes: J.Crew (old, similar options here and here) // blazer: J.Crew (old, current season here) // bag: vintage (similar here, also love this and this budget option) // bracelet: vintage (similar) // earrings: Kiel James Patrick // monogram necklace: Etsy (no longer available, similar here)

I love love love this top from Anthropologie. This is actually the first thing I've ever purchased myself from Anthro (I've gotten a few pieces of jewelry as gifts in the past but never invested in their clothing). I've gone into the store many times and I always find it to be fairly hit and miss. Sometimes I love their stock, sometimes I'm not a fan. However, when I went into a local store with a friend before the holidays I was instantly drawn to this red blouse. It combines three of my favorite design details: bows, a bandeau neckline, and bright red. Initially, I passed on purchasing it (someday I will be able to buy Anthro at full price, but that day is not today), but when Anthro offered an extra 20% off sale and the top was magically included, I couldn't say no!

Combined with some casual denim and sparkly heels, this was the perfect outfit for our New Years party (the day I shot this look). I've gotten a few questions about these jeans; they're the J.Crew Billie Demi Boot-cut jeans. They're currently on sale with an extra 50% off, but they run small so size up! My shoes are my go-to "holiday" shoes. They're made of Lurex, which is that fabric that somehow manages to be simultaneously gold and silver, and sparkly without having actual glitter glued on to it. That's partially why I adore this pair of shoes - not only are they gorgeous, but they also don't "shed" glitter everywhere when I wear them.

I hope your 2019 is off to a great start! I've been focusing on refreshing things, especially by doing a huge room, wardrobe, and makeup/beauty clear out. Another goal of mine is to be more reflective... I don't want to say "mindful" because I think it's the wrong word; while I'd love to meditate or do yoga more frequently, I'm focusing more on journaling. The aim is to fill an entire journal that my friend bought me for Christmas by the end of the year. So far, we're doing well!
