I've been making a concerted effort to really explore Philadelphia. Last fall I was so busy getting to know Penn's campus that going into Center City wasn't really on my radar, and this past winter was just way too cold to walk around! Now that University City (and West Philly in general) feels much more familiar, I'm so excited to branch out and go into the heart of Philly more often. It's just a short walk over the Schuylkill River bridge, so the past few weekends I've been going downtown with friends and enjoying the beautiful weather.

On the day these photos were shot, my friends Michelle, Emma and I went to Center City for brunch. Per Michelle's recommendation, we ate at Bluestone Cafe. It was absolutely delicious; I got the toast with almond butter and preserves. For just over $6, it was a fantastic choice - super filling and delicious, but didn't leave me feeling stuffed. I also got a cold brew and thought the coffee was fantastic.

After brunch, we spent some time sitting in Rittenhouse Square before Michelle had to head back to campus. Emma and I browsed some stores, then took the long way home, winding our way through residential districts and discovering so many beautiful homes, coffee shops, and gardens along the way. It was such a wonderful way to spend the afternoon, and I've compiled a new list of places I want to visit!

As for my outfit, I wore this white button-front dress from Urban Outfitters. Before this year I'd never shopped at Urban (I just didn't think of it as being my style), but after visiting the store on campus several times with friends I've realized that they actually carry so many gorgeous spring and summer pieces that can easily fit with my wardrobe. I tried this linen dress on (currently on sale!!!) and fell in love with the tea length, puff sleeves, and button details. It was such a great choice to feel put-together for brunch but still comfortable for walking. I also love this dress from their line for a sleeveless option - how cute are the shoulder ties?

My all-time favorite, go-with-everything Tory Burch driving flats also stood up to the test of 15,000 steps (yes, I most definitely checked my health app after all that walking!). Sadly, they're no longer part of Tory's line, but these are her current version and these have a similar look to the ones I'm wearing. I adore the square toe; talk about a true ballet flat!
