Earlier this day, I was walking out of trader joes when a woman driving by rolled down her window and complimented my outfit. You know you've got a winner when someone at the grocery store gives you a compliment on your outfit!

These pants have been in my wardrobe for a few years now and I admittedly don't get as much wear out of them as I should. Every time I do put them on, I'm once again reminded of how insanely comfortable they are; they literally have the feel of leggings with the work-appropriate fabric and look of trousers. They're an old rendition of the Old Navy Pixie Pant (a cult classic for a reason), and the gingham fabric should make them one of my most-worn items. And yet, I don't turn to them nearly enough. My guess is that I'm shy about wearing "loud" pants. I definitely need to break that aversion, because I love how they look and how they allow me to switch up my typical outfit formula: a statement pant and plain top, rather than a statement top and understated bottoms. In this outfit, I paired the gingham pants with an easy ruffle chambray top that I purchased from Tuckernuck this past spring. Tuckernuck has fast become my go-to retailer for easy, elegant and unique tops. Their main collection is usually a little outside of my budget, but if you shop their sale you can get fantastic prices on their pieces!

Finally, I can't not mention these shoes. I saw my friend Nikki wearing a pair when we went to the beach, and I fell in love. They're an older style from the brand L'amour Des Pieds. While a lot of their line is directed towards an older demographic, they have some real gems (like these sandals) that are soooo comfortable and stylish! I picked up the Darylynn style brand new off of Poshmark - they feel like slippers and feature butter-soft leather that I can't get enough of. I didn't have a good pair of sandals that I could walk everywhere in, and these definitely filled that space in my wardrobe! I can't wait to wear them for the rest of the summer, and on-campus until the weather gets cooler.
