What's on My Wishlist: Basics

01 July 2019

After coming home from college, I've been going through a major wardrobe purge. I've realized that there are a lot of pieces that I may love, but just don't wear - and it's time to let them go! The past few weeks have involved a lot of rearranging, assessing what I have, and listing items on my Poshmark that deserve a new home where they'll get more use. I'm ready to start curating my closet down to the things I love and will get use out of.

While I've definitely gotten rid of faaaar more than I've bought over this time, I have taken note of some of the major holes in my wardrobe. These are basic pieces that would either make my existing wardrobe way more versatile or are improvements upon items I've passed on. In leiu of a Monday Mood Board, I thought I'd share what basics are on my wishlist today -- but don't worry, mood boards will be back next week!
This one is a no-brainer and I can't believe I don't have one in my wardrobe. I love the tortoiseshell buttons on this style from Banana Republic.
How adorable is this style? I've been looking for a pair of white jeans for summer and these are just so darling. They'd look fantastic with a striped tee by the beach or dressed up with a silk blouse.
Another no-brainer. I'm hoping to purchase one of these for the transition from summer to fall this year and a casual, throw-it-on jacket.
It seems as though I've been searching for the perfect silk cami for years now. I'm very picky with what I want - it can't be too short, or have a neckline that's too high, etc etc. I've tried on a quite a few only to return them since they're not quite what I'm looking for. One of these days I'm going to place an order from Everlane or Grana to try out their camisoles; I've heard amazing things but have never given them a try!
This is another thing that I've been searching for seemingly forever. I most likely will end up purchasing one from J.Crew sometime in the future (I know I need a tall size) but if you don't need special sizing, Everlane's silk button downs seem to be a cult classic.
If you've read the blog for a while, you know that I actually already have a pair of amazing Tory Burch ballet flats. However, I wear them so often they're starting to get a little beat up. I'd love to invest in another pair (preferably on sale!) to alternate with those to increase their life span. I love love love the Bolshoi ballet flat style from Stuart Weitzman.
I've sold several of my old pairs of jeans that I just don't wear enough. While I don't need to replace most of those pairs, I fell in love with this pearl-embellished pair from Paige and I might add it to my wardrobe.
My platinum Jack Rogers are one of my go-to pairs of shoes in the summer; something about the sandal/flip-flop style is so perfect for every occasion. Surprisingly, I don't have any other pairs of sandals in a similar style, and I think a white pair (like this Vince pair with a rope detail) would be a practical and fun addition to my summer shoes - especially now that I've started to notice my Jacks being worn through!
